Mr. LaJeunesse is a nationally recognized expert on hazardous material regulations. Specific knowledge areas include the OSHA Process Safety Management regulation and the EPA Risk Management Program. He is the founder and President of Operations Excellence Consulting, Inc., (OEC) an organization specializing in regulatory compliance, safety and general manufacturing support for both industries and municipalities. This corporation was founded in 1993 to provide hazardous materials regulation compliance support to organizations at the local and national level. OEC has assisted over 40 water and wastewater plants to achieve compliance with Process Safety Management. The firm assisted many of these same plants with the Risk Management Program compliance including offsite consequence modeling. Mr. LaJeunesse has been associated with the chemical industry for more than 26 years, with 16 years at the executive level. His experience includes managing chemical plants for 25 years including 16 years at the executive level. This experience includes directing production, engineering, maintenance, safety and environmental and research and development functions to achieve or surpass targeting objectives for organizations with 100 to 300 persons at multiple sites. His work experiences include Exxon Chemical Company (domestic and overseas) in a variety of operations assignments. He served as Vice President of Operations with Ausimont USA and High Point Chemical Corporation. Mr. LaJeunesse has been active in the Chemical Manufacturers Association Responsible CareR program. He was the chairperson of the Exxon Chemical Company Interplant Safe Operating Committee. This group developed the process safety practices for the Exxon Chemical Company that provided major input into the development of CMA's Responsible CareR Process Safety Code and the OSHA Process Safety Management regulation. He worked with the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) to train chemical plants employees throughout the United States to support compliance with Process Safety Management. To achieve this training, Mr. LaJeunesse co-authored a Student Manual and an Instructors Manual. He also contributed a chapter on Process Safety Management in “Technology and Solvents for Extracting Oilseeds and Nonpetroleum Oils” published by AOCS Press. Currently, Mr. LaJeunesse is developing site specific training manuals for chemical plants in conjunction with operator training. While associated with Exxon Chemical Company, Ausimont USA and High Point Chemical Corporation, Mr. LaJeunesse led more than 20 internal and external Safety and Environmental compliance audits of facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Similar compliance audits are being conducted by OEC.
Mr. LaJeunesse was the founding Co-Chairman of the Union-Middlesex
Counties (NJ) Hazardous Materials Advisory Council (HMAC). This group
became a model for other HMACs in New Jersey and throughout the United
States. He was a member of SOCMA's (Synthetic Organic Chemical
Manufactures Association) Responsible CareR Committee. He is
a frequent speaker at the state and national level on Process Safety
Management, the Risk Management Program and other safety and
