Operations Excellence Consulting, Inc., believes strong safety and health program pays dividends in several ways. First and foremost, it reduces the number of employee injuries and illnesses. Next, it typically benefits the corporation financially by avoiding the cost (lost time, workman's compensation premiums) associated with a poor record. Also, moral improves and the facility is in compliance with State and Federal OSHA regulations. We have extensive "hands on" experience in creating and implementing successful safety and health programs as listed below. We can address any aspect of a program, from incident investigation, to contractor safety, to employee training. Also, we provide independent auditing to help define the current level of performance. A description of our Safety and Health services is provided below. SAFETY AND HEALTH SERVICES: Comprehensive Safety Programs. OEC can provide a comprehensive safety program for an organization. This program includes ten specific actions from employee training to facility audits. Safety Training for all OSHA manufacturing and construction sites. The training is done at your site, on your schedule, using materials and examples from your operations. Safety Surveys. A comprehensive Safety Survey can be conducted on your facilities. The survey will follow the schedule of a standard OSHA visit including an opening conference, review of records, facility inspection, interview of employees and a closing conference. A final written reports with photos is available two to three days after the inspection. This report is totally confidential and will contain all findings and recommendations. Safety Organizations. OEC can assist in the establishment of a site organization where the roles of the Safety Committee, Supervisors and Managers, Safety Specialist and employees are defined and integrated into a comprehensive prevention program. Written Safety Procedures. OEC has comprehensive written Safety Standard Operating Procedures for all OSHA topics. These procedures are available for a client to tailor to their specific site and organization. Alternately, OEC can work with clients to develop a chemicals inventory list, write lock out/tag out procedures, reviewing respirator use, etc., to tailor procedures. Job Safety Analysis. Specific training on how to conduct a job safety analysis and on site leading or participating in the development of a Job Safety Analysis and Job Safety Procedures are available from OEC. Safety Files and Data Analysis. OEC develops comprehensive safety files for clients. Information in these files allows an organization to provide documentation to compliance officers, insurers and other inspectors. This information is also a valuable resource to the current organization. Safety date is analyzed to understand trends in the types, locations, severity and frequently of injuries and accidents at a site. Information from this analysis allows and organization to focus its prevention programs. Safety Planning Calendar. OEC has developed a Regulatory Compliance Calendar for use by its clients. All report dates, training, sampling, audits, etc., for safety, environmental, DOT and other regulations are placed on this calendar late in a year for the next year. This exercise allows an organization to view its entire regulatory compliance workload for a year. Once this effort is understood, responsibilities and resources can be defined to achieve this compliance.
